Police continue search for VW Polo after deaths of 3 constables

Police continue search for VW Polo after deaths of 3 constables! Police say they cannot determine whether three Free State cops, whose bodies were recovered from the Hennops River in Centurion, were in an accident or not.

This is until the vehicle they were traveling in is recovered.

On Monday, police recovered the bodies of Constable Boipelo Senoge and Cebekhulu Linda.

The body of their colleague Keamogetswe Buys was also recovered from the river on Tuesday.

Police are continuing with the search for a white VW Polo in which three police constables were traveling from the Free State to Limpopo.

Between Monday and Tuesday, police recovered five bodies from the Hennops river, with three of them being positively identified as the missing cops.

National police commissioner Fannie Masemola says until the vehicle is found, they cannot label their deaths as an accident.

“For now, it might look like an accident. We don’t know until we find the car, we will then making conclusions as to what has happened.

He said their investigation led them to the Hennops River after observing highway CCTV footage.

“We were checking all the cameras all the way. The last camera where we saw the vehicle, Brakfontein interchange, driving north on the N1.

The families of the officers were brought into Gauteng from the Free State on Tuesday to positively identify their bodies.
