Ratile Mabotja has opened up about her healing journey after the death of the father of her children, businessman Lehlogonolo Mabitsela, in February.
The reality TV star, popularly known for her stint on The Mommy Club, took to her timeline on Tuesday, saying she was claiming a new chapter in her life.
“Taking it one step at a time, embracing every part of my journey — even the unhealed and unrecovered. My story isn’t just mine; it’s testament to resilience, and it’s meant to touch lives forever. I am not what happened to me, reclaiming Boitumelo,” she wrote.
Ratile, who has changed her surname from Mabitsela to her maiden name on social media, did an interview on Engineering Your Life and said dealing with what she had been through with her family was a process.
“I’m healing every day. I am in therapy. My children are in therapy. We do it at least once a week. We trying to keep up with the new normal and trying to create new traditions for the four of us,” she said.
On social media, there has been speculation about Ratile fighting with her in-laws after the death of Lehlogonolo.
Asked how the death of the father of her children affected her, she said: “It left me traumatised. More trauma than anything. Having to also feel the absence because we’ll have the conversations with the children and now we need to constantly revisit it. It’s a journey.”
Ratile said she was opening a different chapter in her life despite how her story had unfolded in public.
