“Riky gave me clothes. He didn’t take me shopping or send money. He literally gave me clothes from his wardrobe when I went to the studio,” Mlindo recalled. The moment highlighted Riky Rick’s generosity, with fans praising his legacy of supporting young artists.

Despite Emakhaya launching his career and achieving widespread acclaim, Mlindo revealed he saw no financial reward. Reflecting on the period during lockdown, he said:
“Lockdown hit when I was home. I couldn’t be locked down this side. The coins were not coining. Emakhaya was released 2018. Then 2019. Now it’s 2020. Which money? What money are you talking about?”
